About this genre
Born in United States, 1980s · Punk & Hardcore
A faster, harder evolution of punk rock that emerged from American cities in the early 1980s, built on aggressive tempos, shouted vocals, and brief, blunt songs. It gave rise to a fiercely independent DIY ethos and dozens of regional scenes from Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles.
